Tarkov customs zone is the main industrial area of the city, located near the plant. It includes a number of infrastructure facilities, a freight train terminal (the place where a skier used to work – a random piece of Tarkov’s knowledge right here) factories, dorm buildings, offices, warehouses and some other unfinished structures. Medium map – 6-12 players and up to 20 Scavs (in waves) and half open which means most gunfights take place at medium distances, but there are some areas like dorms where QCBs should be expected. Moreover, some areas provide good sniper spots (construction site) but they are generally open and do not offer much cover.
Customs is considered to be the most “beginner-friendly” of all the maps available in Escape of Tarkov. There are several reasons for this:
- Spawns / Extractions are pretty simple. You either spawn on the west side (Customs side) and exit on the east side, or spawn on the east (Boiler side) and mine in the west. This, combined with the fact that Spawns is easy to identify, makes the map somewhat easy to learn and navigate.
- The main attractions of the map (the dorms, the new gas station, and the structure located in the middle of the map) tend to grab the attention of most PMC players, making the rest of the map surprisingly safe for new players looking for a little lightness. newbie loot.
- The map offers quite a lot of cover, which negates the ranged advantage that better equipped players have until a certain point.
Points of interest
There are many interesting things at Tarkov customs: from abandoned hostels, various warehouses and industrial facilities to construction sites; Here are some of the most interesting locations (including possible loot).
1. 3-storey dormitory building
One of the two customs buildings in the hostel and one of the places you should get to on this map if you are looking for a fight (due to the fact that there are several quest locations in the building and the best loot on the map – make sure these things are in the zone there are always players). The layout of the building ensures there will be a lot of melee combat, as well as some mid-range battles along the corridors and sometimes across the two dorm buildings. This area requires you to have a row of dorm room keys if you want to fully explore it. The three-story dorm building is one of the places where Reshala Boss and his bodyguards can appear. In addition, this is where the Marked Room is located (third floor, room 314).
Location – North of the customs, north of the construction site, at the end of the road that is perpendicular to the main road (the indicated road starts in the middle of the map), a building on the west side; the highest (spirit …). The 3-storey hostel is marked on our map as “1”.
2. Two-story dormitory building
The shortest of the two Custom dorm buildings and one of the places you should go to on this map if you are looking for a close-range PvP game (due to the fact that there are several quest locations in the building and the best loot available on the map are these things ensure there are always players in the area). The layout of the building ensures there will be a lot of melee combat, as well as some mid-range battles along the corridors (and across two buildings). This area requires you to have a row of dorm room keys if you want to fully explore it. The two-story dorm building is one of the places where Decal Boss and his bodyguards can appear.
Location – northern part of the customs, north of the construction site, at the end of the road that is perpendicular to the main road (the indicated road starts in the middle of the map), building on the east side; shorter. The two-story dormitory building is marked as “2” on our map.
3. New gas station
The “new” gas station is one of the places at customs that you must visit if you want a gunfight. This is because some of the best loot available on the map (including keys, medicines, money, and weapons) appear here. Moreover, this is one of the types of appearance of the boss of the Reshala (players often visit the gas station to check for the presence of the boss).
Location – north of the shipyard in the eastern part of the customs office (southeast of the hostel buildings, from the boiler room side); next to the main road. The new gas station is marked as “3” on our map.
Possible loot: keys (key from the medical unit of the Ministry of Emergencies [Ministry of Emergency Situations], key from the cash register Goshan [Goshan], key from the gas station storage [Warehouse], key from the east wing 306 [San. 306]), medical supplies, looting Cash registers , multiple nuts of free loot, a box with weapons and possibly the property of Reshal and his 4 guards (fancy assault rifles, golden TT pistol, grenades, body armor, Labs Access card, bitcoins, chests, backpacks and other items).
4. Construction site
Industrial zone in the middle of Tarkov customs. Its name comes from the unfinished building in the middle. The “construction” itself offers a good point of view, but it is very vulnerable, so going to its top is not recommended (unless you mind losing your head); if you want to look in, don’t leave the stairs and run up and down. This area doesn’t offer too much loot, but it is one of the best locations for scavenging missions, as scavengers will almost certainly spawn here.
Location – in the middle of the map; south of the hostel, west of the main bridge, next to (south of the main road). The construction site is marked as “4” on our map.
Possible loot: Unknown. Enter the body hidden southwest of the Construct (location for the Extortionist quest), an ammo crate, several bags of things, and a suitcase of weapons in the locked Factory Hut. On top of that, loot from possible Scav Spawns.
5. Bonded warehouse
The industrial area is filled with garages, shacks and large storage containers. If you show up on the customs side it is worth going here as there are some useful items to be found in the area (if you are a newbie and still need additional medicines, provisions, etc.). Keep in mind that it is possible to jump into garages to gain an advantage (this also means that you have to be alert and always ready for a possible ambush from above). This is where some of your possible retrieval points will be located if you appear on the east side of customs.
Location – the western side of the customs office (customs side), just south of the point of exit of the intersection, adjacent to the customs areas and Trenin. The customs storage area is marked as “5” on our map.
Possible loot: Keys (East Wing Room Key 310 [San. 310] – at the extraction point at the intersection, northwest of the storage area, on the front seat of the blue van; Dorm Room Key 214 [Key to Room 214] – Inside “Garage No. 88”, between the pallets), boxes of weapons (two of them are at the extraction point at the intersection), a suitcase in the trunk of a white car, several bags in garages, several jackets.
6. Customs area / Trainyard
The industrial zone with the “Big Red” factory building (western part of the district), a freight train terminal (eastern part of the district) and a parking lot (southern part of the district). Some of the customs lateral spawning grounds are also scattered here. “Big Red” also contains a locked room that requires access to a customs key * (this is a delivery from the past and a place for farming – part 3 of the quests). If you don’t have a key, this area doesn’t offer too many useful loot. It is also recommended that you leave this area quickly if you spawn on this side, as you will be very vulnerable and other players will spawn around you.
* The key can be accidentally dropped by scavs, found in crates, or exchanged for 4 Golden Nech chains (Therapist, LL2).
Location – Southwest part of the customs map, east of the customs storage area, southwest of the main bridge. The customs area / Trainyard is marked as “6” on our map.
Possible loot: In a locked office inside “Big Red”: three PC blocks, a safe, a jacket, and some free loot. In other areas: various looted containers (jackets, wardrobes, duffel bags), two weapon crates (one inside Big Red and one northeast of it) and the key to the East Wing Room 310 [San 310] (on inside a bus parked by the trailer park; southwest part of the area).
7. Shipyard / Warehouses
An industrial area, easily recognizable by the massive cranes in the center. There is a locked room in this area that can be opened with the [Factory] exit key (in the northwest part of the area, west of the parking lot. Due to the close proximity to the side of the boilers, the PMC appears, it is advisable to cross this area carefully, especially at the start of the raid.
Location – southeastern part of the customs, just south of the “New” gas station (on the other side of the main road). On our map Yard / Warehouses are marked with the number “7”.
Possible loot: Oli’s Logistics Department [Key. Office] appears in the trunk of one of the cars parked in the northwest part of the neighborhood. Weapon Crate and Cabinet can be found in the locked room. The southern vault contains two weapon crates, some loose loot, and a jacket.
8. Old gas station
Located away from the main road, this gas station was out of service even before the city of Tarkov was abandoned and destroyed. An old gas station serves as an extraction point, but it is not always open (look for green smoke, if active, head to the station basement). Moreover, there is unrealized loot inside the station building that can spawn almost any item in the game (including armor and weapon boxes). One of the NPC Scav spawn points is located near the station, so care should be taken when traversing this area.
Location – southeastern part of the customs, south of the “New” gas station and shipyard. The old gas station is marked as “8” on our map.
Possible loot: Some free loot (including the aforementioned random spawn), moreover, some medical supplies that spawn in the western part of the area (in a concrete circle, behind a fence).
9. Chimneys / Boiler
This is one of two main areas of PMC farming. If you spawn on the customs side, this is where your main loot points will be located. Compared to other spawn / retrieve areas, this side is much more interesting (there is more loot and more opportunities to explore), so be lucky if you spawn on this side of the map (this spawn is easily recognizable thanks to the industrial chimneys of the chimney building).
Location – the easternmost part of the customs, east of the shipping yard. The chimney / boiler area is marked on our map as “9”.
Possible Loot: Key spawns (Factory Outlet Key [Factory Key] in the chimney building; Military Base Control Point Key [Checkpoint] in the same building; Dorm Room Key 110 [Key 110] in the building north of the chimneys) … In addition, there is some free loot in each of the buildings in the area, and several loot containers can be found here (including weapon boxes, jackets, and the body of the skava).
